Hosted by Breaking the Spine
Author: Richelle Mead
Release Date: 29 July, 2014
Synopsis (from Goodreads):
Sydney Sage is an Alchemist, one of a group of humans who dabble in magic and serve to bridge the worlds of humans and vampires. They protect vampire secrets—and human lives.
In The Fiery Heart, Sydney risked everything to follow her gut, walking a dangerous line to keep her feelings hidden from the Alchemists.
Now in the aftermath of an event that ripped their world apart, Sydney and Adrian struggle to pick up the pieces and find their way back to each other. But first, they have to survive.
For Sydney, trapped and surrounded by adversaries, life becomes a daily struggle to hold on to her identity and the memories of those she loves. Meanwhile, Adrian clings to hope in the face of those who tell him Sydney is a lost cause, but the battle proves daunting as old demons and new temptations begin to seize hold of him. . . .
Their worst fears now a chilling reality, Sydney and Adrian face their darkest hour in this heart-pounding fifth installment in the New York Times bestselling Bloodlines series, where all bets are off.
Why this book?
So, anyone who knows anything about me knows that I am DYING for this book. It’s so much worse because I don’t actually know anyone personally who’s read this series. My sister has read all the Vampire Academy books, but is yet to read Bloodlines. So I can’t tell her what’s happened, but she’s been watching me flail around with the release of each new trailer, desperate for this book.
One of the biggest issues that I’m having is that I didn’t even begin reading Vampire Academy until March this year (so I could go see the movie), and as a result, this the first book in the entire series that I’ve had to wait for. Considering I read the other 10 books within the space of three weeks, these past few months have been torture.
Only 2 weeks to go!!

I feel you, I don’t know anyone personally either who read the Bloodlines Series, this is what suffering feels like. :O
I couldn’t get myself to read The Fiery Heart because I know how it will end, now you might say that if I already know how it ends then I can totally read it but NOO. I can’t bear to read how they take away Sydney and ruin my OTP. 😥
I’ll wait until I have both The Fiery Heart and Silver Shadows and then, just then will I sit down and read them one by one, that day better not talk to me or else. lol.
I’m such a crazy fan when it comes to Sydrian, I will go down with this ship that’s for sure. If they won’t be together in Silver Shadows I’m not sure what I’m going to do… please let them be together in Silver Shadows.
Sorry for the long comment. 🙂 This is the greatest book you could have picked for your WoW.

I was on a roll when I was reading the Bloodlines series…I’d bought all four at once and I pretty much read them non-stop until I was done…seriously, I barely slept.

I LOVED VA, but I learned my lesson when I binge read the first three and had to wait for the fourth after THAT ending in Shadow Kiss. So I haven’t started this series yet until it’s finished. 😦
