BookThiefQuote

If you follow me on Twitter, or instagram, or Goodreads, you will be aware that on Monday, I finished reading The Book Thief.

I think it’s fair to say, my life is now over.

I’d been wanting to read this book for years. So, when I finally got to start it, I was all:

Bean and teddy

By the end of it, I was all:

So well done, everybody who talked about how awesome this book was. You are all responsible for ruining my life.

Slow clap

Have you read The Book Thief? What did you think of it? Do you want to read it now?

Also, has anyone seen the movie? Is it any good? I’m thinking about destroying my life further…

Lockhart, Gayle Forman, If I Stay, James Dashner, Marissa Meyer, Markus Zusak, Mockingjay, Sarah J. Maas, Suzanne Collins, The Assassin's Blade, The Book Thief, The Maze Runner, We Were Liars

So…aeons ago I was tagged by Emily at The Loony Teen Writer to do the Gif Tag, where basically I have to find a gif that accurately sum up my feelings for the list of given books, and then tag other people to do the same.

We Were Liars, by E. Lockhart

Since writing this post, I have gotten this book for Christmas…still haven’t read it yet.

If I Stay, by Gayle Forman

The Assassin’s Blade, by Sarah J. Maas

I knew it was coming…didn’t make it any easier

Mockingjay, by Suzanne Collins

Hades1Hades2

Technically two gifs…but whatever

Dangerous Girls, by Abigail Haas

I did NOT see that ending coming!

The Book Thief, by Markus Zusak

The Maze Runner, by James Dashner

So, I haven’t actually read it yet…but this gif was too good to resist.
It’s on my shelf.

Aristotle and Dante Discover the Secrets of the Universe, by Benjamin Alire Saenz

And I’m still debating whether or not to read it…

Cinder, by Marissa Meyer

ILoveIt

And, because it’s been so long, I’m not even going to bother with the tagging.

This Week’s Topic: Top Ten New-To-Me Authors I Read In 2014

1. Richelle Mead
I did not read Vampire Academy until March this year!! I then read the entire series in a month (including Bloodlines). Definitely my favourite new author.

2. Sarah J. Maas
The Throne of Glass series started gaining popularity with the release of Heir of Fire…so I figured, why not?
*FANGIRLS*

3. Jessica Shirvington
WHY DID I WAIT SO LONG TO READ THIS AUTHOR!? Disruption was amazing, as was Corruption. I’m now planning on reading everything but this person.

4. Marissa Meyer
I FINALLY read Cinder!! Now I just need to read the rest of them.

5. Gayle Foreman
With the movie of If I Stay coming out, I figured I’d read the book.
WOW!
Definitely not my usual type of book, but I still really loved it.

6. Kylie Fornasier
Masquerade was just awesome, ok. Go read it. Now.

7. Sally Green
Half Bad was incredible. I can’t wait for Half Wild.

And, because I’m pedantic and always like to have 10, I’m going to finish this week with 3 new-to-me authors I wanted to read this year.*

8. James Dashner
Because The Maze Runner movie has come and gone and I still haven’t read these books!!

9. Markus Zusak
I’m in a similar situation with The Book Thief.

10. Laini Taylor
A Daughter of Smoke and Bone is sitting on my bookshelf, waiting for me.

*Note: Considering the fact that it is still December, I may still get to read these authors before the year is out.

So…I went a little nuts with the book-buying, and the book-borrowing, and I got my first Netgalley approvals, so I was very excited about that…

Books Bought:

Haha…So, the book buying ban (which is more of a ‘buying restriction’, as opposed to an actual ban) is still happening…but wasn’t entirely adhered to this week…

*I got this book from Netgalley (as an eBook) before the release date…but I loved it so much, I bought it anyway.
**I’ve already read this book, but bought it for the sake of adding it to my shelf.
