Can I actually do it?

But I need your help

Obviously, my pile is huge, so I need some suggestions of where to begin.

We Were Liars, by E. Lockhart

And I’m still debating whether or not to read it…

The TBR Tag

A Thousand Pieces of You, Claudia Gray, E. Lockhart, Goodreads, Richelle Mead, The Ruby Circle, We Were Liars

So, once again I was tagged by the wonderful Cait from Paper Fury (back when she was The Notebook Sisters), and this time, I’m talking about my TBR pile…

The metaphorical pile, not the literal one. Because I don’t have a literal one.

Question 1: How do you keep track of your TBR pile?

Two ways-

tumblr_n90mtziCOu1r8lxnoo3_2501. In my head
Ok, I am ridiculously good at keeping track of books in my head. Like, seriously, it scares me sometimes. At the beginning of this year, I could give you a list of all the books I wanted that were going to be released this year, in the order of their release. I could have also given you exact (US) release dates for most of them.

2. On Goodreads
Because goodreads is an amazing website that lets you order shelves 🙂

Question 2: Is your TBR mostly print or ebook?

Hard to say, given that it’s mostly virtual (aka goodreads). Also, chances of me ever actually getting around to all the free ebooks I’ve downloaded…well, let’s just say that the only TBR pile that really counts is my physical books.

Question 3: How do you determine which from your TBR pile to read next?Read Next

I’m a mood reader. If I’m not in the mood for it, I don’t read it. (Unless I get one of those library notifications that say “if you don’t return this book soon, we’ll make you pay money”…that usually convinces me to read certain books).

Question 4: A book that has been on your TBR pile for the longest?

Hard to say…they’ve all been there for so long. Seriously, I have no idea.

Question 5: A book you recently added to your TBR pile?

Recently? Oh, man, this is just as hard as question 4. THESE QUESTIONS ARE TOO HARD! WHY AM I PUTTING MYSELF THROUGH THIS!?

Question 6: A book in your TBR pile strictly because of its beautiful cover?

20141017-145319.jpgThere used to be quite a few of these…but they’ve all been read…and I was disappointed by most of them.
However, recently, A Thousand Pieces of You has caught my attention…

Seriously, it’s SO PRETTY!!

Question 7: A book in your TBR pile that you never plan on reading?

I’ll probably never get around to reading most of the ebooks on my ipad. I binge-downloaded most of them while I was bored (and they were free), and because I can’t see them, judging me for not reading them, I’ll probably not get around to reading them.

Question 8: An unpublished book in your TBR that you’re excited for?

ALL OF THEM!!

But seriously, the wait for The Ruby Circle is killing me.

Question 9: A book in your TBR that everyone recommends to you?

tumblr_mxys7tf1LV1qzelrxo3_250I always hate questions like this, because I’m the only book nerd I know, with the exception of my sister, but I recommend her books. It rarely happens the other way around. My life is basically me throwing books at people, and those people not reading them. However, I still haven’t read We Were Liars yet. (It’s on reserve at the library).

The Stats

Virtual: 309

Physical: 34

ebook: 50 (estimate only)

Note: the ebooks TBR pile is purely made up of freebies from iBooks. Most of them are classics.

And now, the tagging!

I’m pretty lazy, and as such, I’m basically tagging anyone who wants to do this.

Also, I’m asking the question: Is your TBR pile a literal pile? Or do you just remember which books you have to read? Or is Goodreads the most amazing website ever?

Top Ten Tuesday is hosted by The Broke and the Bookish

This Week’s Topic: Top Ten Books on my Summer TBR

Now, this is going to be a difficult one…because Summer lasts from December to February…SO. MANY. BOOKS.

We’ll see if I can narrow it down, shall we?

1. The Retribution of Mara Dyer, by Michelle Hodkin
It isn’t out in Australia yet, otherwise I would have read it by now.

2. The Revenge of Seven, by Pittacus Lore
I bought this in August. AUGUST PEOPLE!!!

3. Captive, by Aimee Carter
After reading Pawn, I have been desperate to read this.
I read Pawn, like, a year ago.

4. Spark, by Rachel Craw
I WON THIS IN A GIVEAWAY I’M SO HAPPY!!!
Now it just needs to get here…*waiting*

5. Anna Dressed in Blood, by Kendare Blake
So, technically I’ve already started reading this…but I’m not heaps far into it yet.

6. The Maze Runner, by James Dashner
YES! I STILL haven’t read it yet. This book is driving me nuts.

7. Falling into Place, by Amy Zhang
Another giveaway win…I don’t know why I want to read this one…it’s going to destroy me.

8. We Were Liars, by E. Lockhart
It has been on reserve at the library for quite some time now…
I WANT THIS BOOK!!!

9. Miss Peregrines Home for Peculiar Children, by Ransom Riggs
So…borrowed this from a friend in June.
I should probably read it so I can give it back.

10. The Ruby Circle, by Richelle Mead
The only reason this is on the bottom of the list is because it doesn’t come out until February. *beckons February to come faster*

SUCCESS! Narrowed down to 10.

So…what are you planning on reading this summer (or winter, depending on where you live)?

This Week’s Topic: Top Ten Books on my Spring TBR list

Originally, this was a ‘Fall TBR list’, but in Australia, there is no Fall (we call it Autumn), and Autumn doesn’t happen until March, so I changed it to Spring…figured it made sense…

I’m splitting this list into two. The first 5 will be books that aren’t out yet, the last 5 will be books that are already out.

Books not out yet:

1. Sacrifice, by Brigid Kemmerer

2. Blood of Olympus, by Rick Riordan

3. Talon, by Julie Kagawa

4. The Retribution of Mara Dyer, by Michelle Hodkin

5. Blue Lily, Lily Blue, by Maggie Stiefvater

Books already out:

6. The Uprising, by Lisa M. Stasse

7. The 5th Wave, by Rick Yancey

8. We Were Liars, by E. Lockhart

9. The Maze Runner, by James Dashner

10. Revenge of Seven, by Pittacus Lore

And bonus (because of the Between the Covers Book Club):

11. Disruption, by Jessica Shirvington

Hosted by The Broke and the Bookish

This Week’s Topic: Top Ten Books people have been telling me I MUST read

1. The Fault in Our Stars, by John Green
Or any John Green really. People are insisting that I read any of his books…I’m sort of tempted, too.

2. Evernight, by Claudia Grey
To the point where this friend bought it for me…I was planning on reading it anyway…

And that’s it for the books that people are yelling at me to read…I read considerably more than most of my friends, so I’m the one usually doing the yelling.

And because I like having 10 things on a Top Ten Tuesday list, I’m going to complete this list with Books that I see Everywhere* on the Internet, and as such it feels like the internet is telling me to read them:

3. Dorothy Must Die, by Danielle Paige

4. We Were Liars, by E. Lockhart

5. The Maze Runner, by James Dashner

6. The Giver, by Lois Lowry

7. The Half Life of Molly Pierce, by Katrina Leno

8. Dangerous Boys, by Abigail Haas

9. Not a Drop to Drink, Mindy McGinnis

10. Splintered, by A.G. Howard

*Note: By ‘everywhere’, chances are I’ve only seen it once, which is usually enough to make me want to read it.
