This book made me ridiculously happy!!!
It was everything I hoped it would be, and more.
This is more-or-less a spoiler free review. If you wish to go into the book completely blind, then I would recommend going out and buying it now.

“Uh, not much…weren’t there a couple of movies about Thor?
Ok, some things to clarify to start us off:
1. This is not Thor
2. This is not Loki
And yes, they both show up.
Like Rick Riordan’s other series, Magnus Chase and the Gods of Asgard puts a modern kind of spin on mythology. This time (in case you haven’t guessed), the focus is on Norse mythology.
And he does it so fantastically well. One of the things I love most about Rick Riordan’s books is how funny they all are, and I just laughed my entire merry way through this book.
Exciting, wonderful and hilarious. If you loved Rick Riordan’s other books, you will love this. And if you haven’t read his other books, you can still read this one and understand everything. There are a couple of minor references to the Percy Jackson/Heroes of Olympus series, but there are no spoilers for either series, and they aren’t necessary to fully enjoying the story.
And for those of us who’ve read the Percy Jackson series, REJOICE! For the hilarious chapter titles have returned!!

Also, I really really really want to read this because hilarity + Norse mythology = practically my perfect book.
Yes! You need this book in your life! You should go buy it tomorrow and read it immediately.
