Top Ten Tuesday is a thing where we get given a topic, and we have to list our ‘top ten’ things for the topic. Pretty self-explanatory.
Top Ten Tuesday is hosted by The Broke and the Bookish
This Week’s Topic: Top Ten Fairytale Retellings I’ve read/want to read
Sad news: I haven’t actually read that many retellings 😦
So, this week I’m actually presenting the Top Three Fairytale retellings that I’ve read:
1. A Court of Thorns and Roses, by Sarah J. Maas
2. The Sacred Lies of Minnow Bly, by Stephanie Oakes
3. Cinder, by Marissa Meyer
And the Top Three Fairytale retellings that I want to read:
1. Tiger Lily, by Jodi Lynn Anderson
2. Mechanica, by Betsy Cornwell
3. Cruel Beauty, by Rosamund Hodge
So, guys, help me out here…I am obviously in serious need of some fairytale retelling recommendations.
CLEARLY YOU NEED TO READ MORE RETELLINGS!
You must continue The Lunar Chronicles; each book gets better and better. I don’t know how Marissa Meyer does it. And yay for Sacred Lies! Loved that book too. I thought Cruel Beauty was pretty great too. Kickass heroine + a crazy complicated “villain” and romance. The other 3 you mentioned are ones I want to read also!
Recs for you: Stitching Snow, Of Beast and Beauty and Princess of Thorns (both of them are AMAZING), THE WRATH AND THE DAWN, and shoot, I know I have more. But I can’t think of them! Haha. Anyway, you definitely need to read more fairytale retellings! DO IT DO IT.
YES! GIVE ME ALL THE RECOMMENDATIONS!!
*adds everything to goodreads*
Wait, The Wrath and The Dawn is a retelling? I need that book, like, yesterday.
