So, once again I was tagged by the wonderful Cait from Paper Fury (back when she was The Notebook Sisters), and this time, I’m talking about my TBR pile…
The metaphorical pile, not the literal one. Because I don’t have a literal one.
Question 1: How do you keep track of your TBR pile?
Two ways-
1. In my head
Ok, I am ridiculously good at keeping track of books in my head. Like, seriously, it scares me sometimes. At the beginning of this year, I could give you a list of all the books I wanted that were going to be released this year, in the order of their release. I could have also given you exact (US) release dates for most of them.
2. On Goodreads
Because goodreads is an amazing website that lets you order shelves 🙂
Question 2: Is your TBR mostly print or ebook?
Hard to say, given that it’s mostly virtual (aka goodreads). Also, chances of me ever actually getting around to all the free ebooks I’ve downloaded…well, let’s just say that the only TBR pile that really counts is my physical books.
Question 3: How do you determine which from your TBR pile to read next?
I’m a mood reader. If I’m not in the mood for it, I don’t read it. (Unless I get one of those library notifications that say “if you don’t return this book soon, we’ll make you pay money”…that usually convinces me to read certain books).
Question 4: A book that has been on your TBR pile for the longest?
Hard to say…they’ve all been there for so long. Seriously, I have no idea.
Question 5: A book you recently added to your TBR pile?
Recently? Oh, man, this is just as hard as question 4. THESE QUESTIONS ARE TOO HARD! WHY AM I PUTTING MYSELF THROUGH THIS!?
Question 6: A book in your TBR pile strictly because of its beautiful cover?
There used to be quite a few of these…but they’ve all been read…and I was disappointed by most of them.
However, recently, A Thousand Pieces of You has caught my attention…
Seriously, it’s SO PRETTY!!
Question 7: A book in your TBR pile that you never plan on reading?
I’ll probably never get around to reading most of the ebooks on my ipad. I binge-downloaded most of them while I was bored (and they were free), and because I can’t see them, judging me for not reading them, I’ll probably not get around to reading them.
Question 8: An unpublished book in your TBR that you’re excited for?
ALL OF THEM!!
But seriously, the wait for The Ruby Circle is killing me.
Question 9: A book in your TBR that everyone recommends to you?
I always hate questions like this, because I’m the only book nerd I know, with the exception of my sister, but I recommend her books. It rarely happens the other way around. My life is basically me throwing books at people, and those people not reading them. However, I still haven’t read We Were Liars yet. (It’s on reserve at the library).
The Stats
Virtual: 309
Physical: 34
ebook: 50 (estimate only)
Note: the ebooks TBR pile is purely made up of freebies from iBooks. Most of them are classics.
And now, the tagging!
I’m pretty lazy, and as such, I’m basically tagging anyone who wants to do this.
Also, I’m asking the question: Is your TBR pile a literal pile? Or do you just remember which books you have to read? Or is Goodreads the most amazing website ever?
Great post! This is a great tag. How did I go without know this existed?
I have no idea, but you should totally do it.
Goodreads is the best website ever basically. I’ve had it since I was 14. 😀
And oh man there are soooo many books on my TBR pile that people are like
WHAT YOU HAVEN’T READ IT YET? YOU NEED TO READ IT NOWWW!!!
and I’m all like
*runs* *hides* *puts hands up* okay okay okay!!!!
seriously, my TBR pile…is a lot of books that a lot of people REALLY want me to read! And I’m about to go into year 12!!!! ARGH!!!
Thanks for the post Cassie! It was wonderful, as always. 😀
I’ve found that reading is an excellent form of procrastination while your parents aren’t looking during the HSC.
That’s how I read The Mortal Instruments…next to the bedroom window, keeping an eye out for mum coming home.
And, yes, there are SO MANY BOOKS YOU NEED TO READ!!!
There are also many, many books my sister needs to read so that I can flail about them, but no, she has a social life… -_-
I need one of those things where I can remember everything. It would be so helpful!! Haha A Thousand Pieces of You is so beautiful, right??
Yeah, I’ve just always been really good at remembering things.
It scares people sometimes.
And, yes, A Thousand Pieces of You is so pretty! It’s one of my display books 🙂
Omg, talk about THE PERFECT GIFS OF THE WORLD. x) You win the world.
Also I get more encouraged to read books when they have like a due-date. I always read my ARCs and library books but hardly ever the books I own. I FEEL BAD ABOUT THAT. x)
I feel terrible for all the books I own but haven’t read yet. I sometimes whisper to them “soon, I promise!”
And if I win the world, does that mean I get to rule it with you?
