Stacking the Shelves is a thing where we talk about the books we’ve collected in the past week. These can be bought, delivered, ARCs, ebooks, etc.. Pretty self-explanatory.
Stacking the Shelves is hosted by Tygna’s Reviews
Books Bought:
Daughter of Smoke and Bone, by Laini Taylor
Anna Dressed in Blood, by Kendare Blake
A Discovery of Witches, by Deborah Harkness
Sacrifice, by Brigid Kemmerer
And before anyone yells at me for breaking my book-buying-ban, I would like to point out that I only bought one of these books (Sacrifice), which is on my list. The other three were bought by a friend of mine because I recently helped her move, and will help her with her physics test (she pays me in books, it’s awesome).
I seriously need people to pay me in books. I keep hinting at my sister (I babysit her kids all. the. time) that she could pay me in books. So far she pays me in “cuddles from my nieces/nephew”. THAT’S SO NOT COUNTED. 😉
Oh I hope you like Daughter of Smoke and Bone!! I’ve got book #2 out from the library right now, but it’s huge and daunting and I haven’t quite got up the courage to attempt it yet. 😉
Speaking of big books…A Discovery of Witches is 688 pages…
What have I done?
And I’m really hoping I like DoSaB…I’ve heard so many good things about it 🙂
These four books are quite similar, from my memory! Strangely, I’ve read the blurbs of all 4 but I haven’t actually read any. XD A discovery of witches, I was meant to read aaages ago… I think I’ll start with that because The Book Of Life recently came out!
“before anyone yells at me for breaking my book-buying-ban”
This made me laugh so much, because I would’ve broken my book-buying-ban five times over if being broke wasn’t the reason i placed the ban to start with. XD Aww it would be so cool to be paid in books :3
Great post!
