So, recently I realised that I have already bought over 50 books this year…
That’s, like, 10 per month.
However, that’s also quite a lot of money, so I’ve decided to challenge myself to a book buying ban, which will last until the end of this year.
So, does that mean that I won’t be buying any books for the rest of the year?
No. What it means is that I’m only allowed to buy books that are already on my list. No more impulse buying!
Which means that between now and the end of the year, these are the only books I will buy:
Rebel Belle, by Rachel Hawkins
School Spirits, by Rachel Hawkins
Sinner, by Maggie Stiefvater
Silver Shadows, by Richelle Mead
Percy Jackson’s Greek Gods, by Rick Riordan
The Revenge of Seven, by Pittacus Lore
The Lost Files #3, by Pittacus Lore (and #2 if it ever shows up in Aus.)
The Blood of Olympus, by Rick Riordan
Sacrifice, by Brigid Kemmerer
The Retribution of Mara Dyer, by Michelle Hodkin
Talon, by Julie Kagawa
That’s it! 11 books.
That being said, if it gets to the end of September, and I’ve been good, I may reward myself with an impulse buy, but otherwise, it’s the library for me.
Let’s do this thing!
SINNER IS AMAZING YOU WILL NOT REGRET BUYING IT. YOU WILL NOT AT ALL I ABSOLUTELY PROMISE. *flails backwards finishing the last few pages* I’m on an accidental book buying ban. I just don’t have money. Hehe. But I’m on a requesting-arc-ban too because I have too much to read and I want to do OTHER things than read, weirdly enough. So, no more library trips for me right now either. 😉
I’ve already read the first 3 chapters of Sinner (it was online somewhere)…I’m expecting it to be amazing, I’ve ordered it in at Dymocks.
You best avoid reading any reviews that aren’t on your list! Thats how I get all ‘impulse buy-y’. I read a really good review and I cant help myself=) Good luck!
I reckon the best thing for me to do would be to stay away from Twitter…but that’s going to be more impossible than not buying books.
